STORM LAKE - Marc Husman placed second in the 400 meters to lead the Cherokee Braves track and field team at Monday night's Storm Lake Tornado Relays.
Husman clocked a 50.74 time to finish second in the 400 meters, the Braves highest finish in the rugged eight-team field.
Cherokee's Grayson Roosa was fourth in the discus with a throw of 132-9, and teammate Lane Peterson placed sixth in the event with a toss of 126-10.
Two Cherokee relays placed fourth, including the medley and 4x800. Andy Pitts, Ben Sampson, Luke Zieman, and Husman were timed in 3:57 in the medley; while Husman, Eamon Adamson, Kevin Fajardo, and Zieman were timed in 8:50 in the 4x800.
The Braves placed sixth in the 4x100 with Pitts, Nathaniel Morgan, Zac Taylor, and Carlos Aguilar clocking 49.23.
The shuttle hurdle relay of Taylor, Morgan, Sampson, and Aguilar was seventh in a time of 1:12; and the 4x400 relay of Adamson, Zieman, Sampson, and Fajardo also was seventh in 3:47.
Spirit Lake Park won the boys team title with 134 points, followed by MOC-Floyd Valley 128, Spencer 99, Le Mars 62, Carroll Kuemper 41, Storm Lake 38, Estherville-LC 33, and Cherokee 22.
