Ridge View, River Valley in WVC Meet

KP-WC wins boys' team title, OABCIG wins girls'

KINGSLEY - Host Kingsley-Pierson/Woodbury Central won the boys team title, and Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove won the girls crown at the Western Valley Conference Track & Field Meet here Monday night.

Area teams Ridge View and River Valley featured several fine performances at the expansive 16-team meet in both boys and girls divisions.

For River Valley boys, Tanner Cobb was second in the shot put with a 50-5 efort, and Zac Gander was third in the high jump with a leap of 6-0.

Brittny Shropshire paced the River Valley girls, placing second in the 100 meter hurdles in 16.40, and Olivia Goettsch was fourth in the 3000 meters in a time of 12.21, and fifth in the 1500 meters in 5:43.

The Ridge View boys were second behind KP-WC in the team standings, with Dru Kenny winning the 200 meters in 22.9, Christian Egger winning the 400 meter hurdles in 56.83, Nathan Myrice third in the shot put with a 50-4 heave, and Kyle Wessling third in the long jump with a leap of 19-0 1/2.

In the boys relays, Ridge View won the shuttle hurdle in 1:01 with Wessling, Derrick Williams, Egger, and Sergio Carbajal aboard; was second in the 4x200 in 1:32; second in the 4x100 in 44.53; and third in the 4x400 in 3:35.

The Ridge View girls were fourth in the team standings with Gretchen Kistenmacher winning the long jump with a 15-9 1/4 leap, and also claiming the 400 meter hurdles in 1:08. Emily Kenny was third in the 100 meters in 13.46, Nicole Snyder third in the 800 meters in 2:30, and Sydney Kistenmacher second in the 200 meters in 26.98.

The Raptors placed second in three relays, including a 4:27 clocking in the distance medley, a 1:58 time in the sprint medley, and a 4:16 time in the 4x400.
