Warrior boys second at TLC Meet

SAC CITY - Manson-Nortwest Webster beat out the Alta-Aurelia boys, 142 -121, to win the team championship at Tuesday's Twin Lakes Conference track meet here. South Central Calhoun finished third and Sioux Central fourth.

The Warriors' Jalen Henningsen was a double winner, as he took the100 meter dash in a time of 11.01 and came back to win the 200 meter dash, in a time of 22.86. The Warriiors' Neil Marshall finished second in the 110 meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 15.08 to winner Ethan Lundquist of Sioux Central's time of 14.55.

The Warriors' Shawn Rowell was second in the long jump, leaping 18-9, and teammate AJ Lange was third, at 18-7 1/4; Lange was also third in the high jump, clearing 5-10 and Jordan Schmitz finished third in the 400 meter hurdles with his time of 58.07.

In the relay events, Alta-Aurelia finished second behind Manson-NW Webster in the 4 x 100, with a time of 45.12, and they were also runner-up to the Cougars in the 4 x 200, running the event in a time of 1:35.15, and the 4 x 400, where the Warriors turned in a time of 3:34.21, less than one second behind MNW.

The Warriors were also runners up in the 1600 meter sprint medley, but this time they finished behind winner East Sac. The Warriors' time for the event was 3:53.85.

Alta-Aurelia's teams will run in a Co-Ed meet at Lake City on Monday, and then comes the District Track Meet at Sioux Center on Thursday, May 10.
