AA girls 5th at KP-WC track invite

KINGSLEY - The Alta-Aurelia girls finished fourth in a nine-team field at Thursday's Kingsley-Pierson/Woodbury Central Invitational track and field meet.

Tami Bertrand was the lone gold medal winner for the Warriors, as she won the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:14.36. Rachel Husman took second in the discus with a throw of 82-10 and the Warriors' 4 x 800 relay team of Husman, Bertrand, Ali Turnquist and Brielle Kolpin also granered a second place, running the event in 11:43.96. The Warriors' distance medley team of Paige Sivinski, Rachel Arnts, Rachel Husman and Tami Bertrand finished third, running that event in a time of 5:12.99.

Host Kingsley-Pierson/Woodbury Central won the Girls' section of the Co-Ed meet, scoring 143 points to edge Remsen St. Mary's by four points. Maple Valley/ Anthon-Oto finished third with 100 points, and Alta-Aurelia scored 61 points to take fourth.
