A workshop on Starting and Operating Your Business will be held Wednesday, May 16, at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Cherokee.
The workshop is designed for existing business owners, individuals interested in starting a business, inventors, and entrepreneurs. Kelly McCarty from the Spencer Small Business Development Center will be the workshop instructor.
Workshop topics will include:
Successful characteristics for business, the "P's"--Preparation, Perspiration, Perseverance and Planning; Components of a Winning Business Plan, Marketing, Financial Assumptions, and the 4 C's a bank will look at before making a loan.
The workshop will be held at the Western Iowa Tech Community College, 200 Victory Drive, Cherokee, Iowa. The workshop fee is $10. The Workshop on Starting and Operating Your Business is sponsored by Counselors to America's Small Business (SCORE), the Small Business Development Centers of Iowa, and Western Iowa Tech Community College in cooperation with Cherokee Economic Development.
SCORE members will also be on hand to provide participants with information on the next business assistance step of accessing SCORE's free small business one-on-one counseling.
