Lux wins age division in half marathon

LINCOLN, Neb. - Jaden Lux, a 17-year-old junior at Cherokee Washington High School, competed in the 35th annual Lincoln, Nebraska National Guard Half Marathon on Sunday, May 6, and finished first of 65 boys in the 19-and-under age division, completing the 13.1 mile course in 1 hour, 31 minutes.

Jaden also competed at Lincoln last year, when he finished second in his age division.

There were 10,000 runners registered for the event this year, and 6,768 runners of all ages and both sexes ran on Sunday - 4,381 females and 2,387 males. Jaden finished 100th out of the 6,768 runners who competed, and was 89th out of the 2,387 males.

Among the other runners competing Sunday was Jaden's sister, Brittany Lux, 25, of Sioux Falls, who was competing in the event for the third year. Mark Lux of Cherokee and Suzanne Lux of Lincoln are Jaden and Brittany's parents.
