LAKE CITY - The Alta-Aurelia girls finished fifth in the Girls Division of the Jim Yunek Relays run here on Monday.
Tami Bertrand garnered the Warriors' lone individual gold medal, as she cruised to a win in the 400 meter hurdles, with her winning time of 1:12.61 more than four seconds faster than the second place finisher.
The Warriors got their other first place in the evening's final event, as they won the 4 x 400 meter relay in a time of 4:36.34. The Warriors' Erica Lockin finished second in the 400 meters by .29 seconds, as she ran a time of 1:05.92.
Third place A-A finishes included Rachel Husman in the discus, 87- 2 1/2; Paige Sivinski in the long jump, 13-4 3/4; the distance medley relay, in 5:02.38; and the 4 x 100 relay, 57.34.
South Central Calhoun won the Girls' meet, scoring 150.50 points to runner-up Manson-Northwest Webster's 115 points. SE Webster Grand was third with 91.50, East Greene was fourth with 80 points, Alta-Aurelia finished fifth with 59 points, and Paton-Churdan finished sixth, scoring 23 points.
The Warrior girls compete at the 2A District in Sioux Center today.
