The Voter Pre-Registration deadline for the Primary Election is Saturday, May 26.
The Cherokee County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections encourage new residents of the county to register by downloading the registration form at www.cherokeecountyiowa.com/electionprima... or by stopping at the office at the Cherokee County Courthouse, located at 520 West Main St. in Cherokee, to complete a registration form
The Auditor's office will be open on Saturday, May 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for pre-registration and absentee voting.
If voters have moved within the county, it is advised that a new voter registration form be completed in order to update their voting address.
All residents in the State of Iowa must vote in the precinct in which they reside on Election Day. Any new voter registrations received after May 26 will require a current photo ID and proof of residency.
