"This was not how we envisioned our season ending," noted Cherokee coach James DeVos. "This team had been building momentum coming into the sectional meet but we couldn't get the job done today. Golf is a funny sport like that sometimes.

"Jake Spindler and Adam Pitts both tied for 9th place overall and the Braves finished 6th out of eight teams to bring our 2012 season to a close. We will be saying goodbye to five seniors from the varsity squad which means next year will be a very green team.

"These seniors had a lot of fun and have been great contributors to Cherokee Braves Golf. They will be missed, and I wish them the very best in the future."
