DES MOINES Cherokee's Marc Husman placed eighth in the 800 meters and teammate Eamon Adamson placed 11th in the 1600 meters at last week's 2012 Class 2A Iowa State Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

Also on Saturday's final day, Ridge View's shuttle hurdle relay of Kyle Wessling, Christian Egger, Derrick Williams, and Sergio Carbajal finished sixth in a time of 1:00.86.

in 1A, Cole Ebel of South O'Brien was eighth in the 100 meters in 11.91. Also for the Wolverines, Adam Paulsen was 22nd in the 800 meters in 2:06.51, and Halee Rahbusch 18th in the girls 2A 800 meters in 2:27.96.

In Friday's action, Ridge View's 4x200 relay of Ryan Garthoff, Seth Johnson, Austin Graff, and Dru Kenny placed ninth in 1:32.23; and Alta-Aurelia's 4x200 relay of Kaleb Howey, Shawn Rowell, Jordan Schmitz, and Jalen Henningsen was 13th in 1:32.83.

Also on Friday, the SOS 4x200 relay of Hunter Fiddelke, Ebel, John Gray, and Bret Puhrmann was 14th in 1:34.41; and that same foursome in the 4x100 did not make finals.

River Valley's Zac Gander was 16th in the high jump with a 5-10 leap, and Matt DeVos of SOS was 21st in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:04.42.

In girls 2A finals Friday, Gretchen Kistenmacher from Ridge View was 11th in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:09.01, and River Valley's Brittny Shropshire clocked a 16.48 in the 100 meter hurdles and did not qualify for finals.

In the 2A relays Friday, Ridge View's Jalyn Mohr, Gretchen Kistenmacher, Sydney Kistenmacher, and Nicole Snyder placed ninth in the distance medley; and the SOS relay team was 22nd in 4:32.37 with Taylor Paulsen, Karle Negus, Casie Rehder, and Rahbusch aboard.

In first-day action Thursday, Husman placed fifth in the Class 2A 400 meters in a time of 50.05, and clocked a 23.75 in the 200 meters Friday to finish sixth in the preliminaries and 21st over all after failing to make the finals.

Cherokee's Taylor Woods placed fourth over all in the shot put with a throw of 39-7 after posting that distance in the flights. Woods finished 14th over all in the discus with a 116-01 effort.

Cherokee's Katy Hart was 23rd in the long jump with a leap of 15-0 1/4 and did not make the finals.

Also in Class 2A action, Ridge View's Nathan Myrice placed seventh in the shot put with a heave of 50-9.

In the preliminaries for Ridge View, Seth Johnson was seventh in his heat in the 100 meters in 12.26 and did not make finals; Dru Kenny was first in his heat in the 100 meters in 23.19 and did not make finals; and the Raptors' shuttle hurdle relay team of Kyle Wessling, Christian Egger, Derrick Williams and Sergio Carbajal clocked 100.34 to qualify seventh for the eight-team finals on Saturday.

Alta-Aurelia's shuttle hurdle relay of Austin Delp, Jared Schmitz, Jordan Schmitz, and Neil Marshall timed a 1:01.80 and did not qualify for finals. Mitchell Fritz placed 24th in the 400 meters for the Warriors in a time of 52.80, failing to make finals. Jalen Henningsen was fifth in his heat in the 100 meters in 11.88 and did not make finals, and placed third in his 200 meters heat in a time of 23.29 and missed the finals.

In other 2A girls action for Ridge View, Rachel Hunt was seventh in the preliminaries of the 100 meters in 14.05 and did not make finals, and teammate Emily Kenny was eighth in the prelims in 13.73 and did not advance. Sydney Kistenmacher was fourth in her heat in the 200 meters in 27.63 and didn't advance.

In Class 1A, South O'Brien's Bret Puhrmann was 14th in the long jump with a leap of 20-1 1/2, and River Valley's Tanner Cobb was fifth in the shot put with a heave of 49-09 3/4. Cole Ebel of SOS clocked 11.69 in the 100 meters to qualify eighth for the Saturday finals.

For the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn girls in 1A, Erica Dreckman was seventh in her heat in the 100 meters in 14.14 and missed the finals, and placed fifth in the 200 meters preliminaries in 27.86 and did not make finals. Nikki Schwarz for MMC placed 12th in the 3000 meters in a time of 11:38.31.

In Friday's action in 2A, the Ridge View distance medley relay of Jadyn Mohr, Gretchen Kistenmacher, Sydney Kistenmacher, and Nicole Snyder placed ninth in a time of 4:22.32; and the South O'Brien distance medley relay of Taylor Paulsen, Karle Negus, Casie Rehder, and Halee Rahbusach was 22nd in 4:32.37.

in the boys 2A 4x200 relay, Ridge View placed ninth in 1:32.23 with Ryan Garthoff, Seth Johnson, Austin Graff, and Dru Kenny aboard; and Alta-Aurelia's 4x200 relay of Keleb Howey, Shawn Rowell, Jordan Schmitz, and Jalen Henningsen was 13th in 1:32.83.

In the 4x100 relay for Ridge View, the Raptors were 12th in 44.67 featuring Garthoff, Johnson, Graff, and Kenny.

In the 4x400 relay for A-A, the Warriors were 17th in 3:28.62 with Austin Delp, Neil Marshall, Mitchell Fritz, and Jalen Henningsen aboard.
