The town's 125th Birthday will be celebrated by three days packed full of entertainment, displays, a Flea & Craft Show, street dances, All-School Reunion, Golf Tournament, Antique Tractor Show, Quilt Shows, Beer Garden, Car Show, Parades, free watermelon, Midway, Bingo, and countless other fun and games for the entire family throughout all three days.
Also included are live music and a Magic Show in the Main Tent, a Cake Walk, nightly Bingo, and arm wrestling.
In addition, the "125 Store" featuring all kinds of souvenirs and historic items will be open to the public from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28; 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 29, and Saturday, June 30; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 1.
Among the many items offered in the 125 Store are Centennial belt buckles and plates, picture postcard sets, history books, and cook books.
The 125 Store is currently open from 10 a.m. to noon each Saturday, and by appointment by calling Carol Fizer at 445-2306, Patty Nelson at 445-2025, or Andrea Urban at 445-2295.
There are also raffle tickets for sale now for a queen-size quilt, utility vehicle, and LG 42-inch TV.
On Friday, June 29, Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m. by the downtown flag pole, Little Miss Quimby Crowning will be 4:30 p.m. in the main tent, the Kids Parade will be at 6 p.m., and the popular local rock/country band "Riata" will play from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Saturday's full venue will include the Golf Tournament beginning at 7:30 a.m., Opening Ceremonies again at 10 a.m., Car Show at 1-5 p.m., Parade at 2 p.m., All-School Reunion at 5 p.m. free watermelon at 8 p.m., and the Firemen's Dance featuring "Wicked Fun" at 9 p.m.
Sunday's slate includes Church Stand Breakfast Brunch at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Community Church Service at 11 a.m.; and Closing Ceremonies at 1 p.m. The 125 Store opens at 8 a.m.
