The Cherokee Drug Endangered Children Alliance is having it's annual fundraiser this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cherokee Fareway parking lot.
The Cherokee County Pork Producers are donating their time and will be
there to grill Pork Burgers for $3, and Hot Dogs-donated by Tyson for $1.
They will also be serving chips for $.50 and Chesterman's has donated their
Coke trailer for 12 oz Coke, Dt. Coke, Sprite, or Pibb for $.50.
The funds that are raised will fund scholarships for Drug Endangered Children
to participate in summer programs: swimming lessons and pool passes,
sponsorship of the Little League, equipment for summer sports activities.
Funds will also support the continuing education of our DEC Team Members in
attending conferences, as well as hosting a Cherokee DEC Conference.
Finally: these proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to purchase
emergency needs for children that are removed from an unhealthy, unsafe
environment: blankets, teddy bears, diapers, clothes, coats,
bottles/formula, car seats, etc.
