LAWTON - In a 10-0 6-inning loss here on Monday to the Lawton-Bronson girls, the Alta-Aurelia girls committed eight errors and "never were really focused," in the words of their coach, Dave Turnquist.
"They had a very good pitcher, and I didn't have the girls ready for that," said Turnquist. "Both the team and I will learn from this and get refocused. Our ability to learn and get back on track has been our strength this season, and I know we'll bounce back. Lawton-Bronson impressed me a lot."
Alta-Aurelia, whose season record dropped to 3-4 with the non-conference loss. was led at the plate by Alexis Hernandez, who went 1-2. Sophomore hurler Tayler Rohwer continued to look sharp for Alta-Aurelia, as she pitched six innings, giving up five earned runs and walking two ,while striking out six.
