First Cooperative Association Awards $7,500 in scholarships

First Cooperative Association, headquartered in Cherokee, Iowa with 21 locations in Northwest Iowa has awarded fifteen (15) $500 scholarships to chosen graduates in their trade area.

Since 1997 in excess of $116,000 has been given to local graduates to further their education in a variety of fields.

This year's recipients are:

Shelby Bingham, Cherokee Schools

Brooke Luetkeman, Cherokee Schools

David Sundblad, Laurens-Marathon Schools

Brice Wenell, Laurens-Marathon Schools

Megan Sitzmann, Le Mars Schools

Mitch Brady, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Schools

Courtney Behrens, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Schools

Ben Hueser, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Schools

Bailey Walton, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Schools

Anna Wilcox, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Schools

Marc Meyer, Ridge View Schools

Taylor Radke, Ridge View Schools

Leah Postma, Sioux Central Schools

Many of these young people are entering agricultural related and rural study fields and intend to work in rural areas. This is part of a culture that is encouraged by First Cooperative with the hope of continuing and strengthening the rural economy in Iowa.
