ONAWA - The Ridge View softball team improved their record to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference with a 12-7 victory over West Monona here on Tuesday. Picking up the victory on the mound was Mandy Wolver, who threw all seven innings, giving up 10 hits and seven runs, with 3 being earned runs. Wolver also walked five and struck out five. Leading the way at the plate for the Raptors were Dana Hustedt, who went 3-5 with one RBI and scored three runs; Kaitlin Wulf, who went 3-4, including a triple, and scored two runs; Gretchen Kistenmacher, who doubled twice and drove in two runs; and Rachel Boyle, who went 2-4 with a double.
Ridge View had 16 hits as a team, but the coaches are "looking for more consistency from our defense and our pitching," said Coach Scott Phelps. "We can't afford to have let- downs and throw the ball around for an inning or two."
