The Mustang girls had turned in a 9:18.06 time in the prelims, which was the seventh best qualifying time.
The Mustang team's leadoff runner was Breanna Mathes, a junior who prepped at Galva-Holstein High School. Other members of the team were freshman Hailee Heitkamp, sophomore Cecily Waddell and senior Jessica Weborg.
