MARION, Ind. - Morningside College's women's 3200 Meter Relay team placed sixth at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships here last weekend and their time of 9:07.02 shattered the former school record in the event, set in 2010, by more than five seconds. The Mustang girls had turned in a 9:18.06 time in the prelims, which was the seventh best qualifying time.

The Mustang team's leadoff runner was Breanna Mathes, a junior who prepped at Galva-Holstein High School. Other members of the team were freshman Hailee Heitkamp, sophomore Cecily Waddell and senior Jessica Weborg.

The team's 6th place finish earned them All-America status.
