Alta-Aurelia girls fall to RSM

Monday, June 4, 2012

ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia girls made contact in every at-bat in their non-conference softball match-up here with Remsen St. Mary's on Thursday, "Nobody struck out," said A-A coach Dave Turnquist, " but we couldn't find a hole. Remsen St. Mary's played great defense" on their way to a 4-0 win.

Jill Buckendahl had a 1-2 night at the plate for the Warriors, and Tayler Rohwer stroked a double. Jenna Snyder was in the pitcher's circle for Alta-Aurelia and she allowed three earned runs and gave up seven hits in seven innings, while striking out five. It was Snyder's first varsity start at home, and Turnquist said she did very well, commenting that "she kept them off -balance, and they scored with some well- timed hits."

Alta-Aurelia's record is now 4-5 on the season.
