There were many outstanding applicants from the graduating class of 2012. Four CRMC Kenneth Hobson Memorial scholarships were awarded this year. The recipients were Gabe Conley and Jenna Lundsgaard, seniors at Cherokee Washington High School, along with Anna Wilcox and Andrea Wester, seniors at Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School.
Conley is the son of Steve and Theresa Conley of Cherokee. He currently plans to attend the University of Iowa to study Biology and then continue on to medical school. Lundsgaard is the daughter of Tim and Joyce Lundsgaard of rural Cherokee. She plans to major in Pharmacy at Drake University.
Wilcox is the daughter of Mark and Sara Wilcoxof Marcus. She will attend Iowa State University this fall, and plans to major in Nutritional Science and then continue her education in pursuit of a career in Occupational Therapy. Wester is the daughter of Eric and Sara Wester. She will attend Iowa State University where she will study Biology, and then she plans to continue on to Optometry School.
The recipients of the CRMC Auxiliary scholarships were Cherokee Washington High School senior Zac Anderson, and Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn senior Megan Schlinz. Anderson is the son of Steve and Diane Anderson of Cherokee. He will attend the University of Iowa to study Pharmacy. Schlinz plans to attend South Dakota State University to begin her pursuit of a career in Dental Surgery. She is the daughter of Dean and Shanda Schlinz of Cleghorn.
