New Way Singers to perform in Cherokee

Nebraska Christian College is pleased to sponsor a select group of high school students to perform on tour known as the New Way Singers. This musical program is for high school students who have a love for music and God. The 2012 tour marks the 40th Anniversary of the program's legacy. This year's theme is 'By Faith' with the key verse found in Hebrews 12:1-2.20.

Each year students submit auditions to participate in The New Way Singers tour. They have to submit two songs and a scale. This year's group includes 42 high school students, sophomores to seniors, one of which is Hannah Lewis of Cherokee's Washington High School. She is the daughter of Tom and Kathy Lewis. The tour will begin on June 14 in Norfolk, Neb. and will include ten concerts in total at various churches in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and even Wisconsin with the final concert on June 24 at Nebraska Christian College's Ministry Equipping Center, 12550 S. 114th Street, Papillion, NE 68046.

The New Way Singers will perform in Cherokee on Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at the First Church of Christ located at 772 N. 2nd Street in Cherokee. This concert is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. There is no admission fee, however, a free will offering will be received as a gift to Nebraska Christian College.
