ALTA - In his second career start on Wednesday, Alta-Aurelia freshman Ross Friedrich pitched very well, and did a nice job of mixing up his pitches in a 19-7 Twin Lakes Conference win over Southeast Webster-Grand.
Jalen Henningsen slugged a home run for the Warriors and Neil Marshall and Austin Delp had three hits apiece and each scored three times.
Friedrich gave up seven runs (five earned) and eight hits in five innings, while walking four and striking ot four.
"With games almost every night, it is very important to have some of the younger players step up and pitch," said A-A coach Dan Wendel."Our hitting is really coming around and we have been scoring a lot of runs, which really helps take the pressure off our pitching staff ... Hopefully we can continue playing at this level."
The win boosted the Warriors' season record to 13-5. According to Twin Lakes Conference Commissioner Mark Schaefer, only the second game between Conference teams counts towards the Conference standings, so - though the Warriors are undefeated in conference play - none of those wins will count towards the final conference standings.
