If you're stuck in a rut during your workday lunch, then here's a great opportunity to do something different. Cherokee County Conservation Board's Naturalist, Laura Kohn, is inviting you to spend your lunch break with her at Koser Spring Lake Park in Cherokee.
The Naturalist's Lunchbox is an outdoor program that runs from noon to 1 p.m. It's a time to enjoy the outdoors, eat your lunch, and be part of a fun activity that the whole family will enjoy. Each program will take 30-45 minutes and be on a different topic, leaving some time to finish lunch, ask questions, and enjoy the fresh air.
The program is free of charge and will take place on Thursdays, meeting at or near the big shelter by the playground at Spring Lake Park. "This program is new and something I've always wanted to try," said Kohn. "If it interests people, then I plan on continuing the program."
Remember to bring your lunch, blanket if you want to sit in the grass, and be prepared for any type of weather, but leave the family pet at home. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Come and see what's in the Naturalist's Lunchbox.
The Naturalist's Lunchbox will be held on the following dates:
June 21: Nature Detective
July 5: Animal Skins
July 19: Birds
Aug 9: Tree-mendous
