CHARTER OAK - The Ridge View girls lost another hard - fought contest here on Wednesday to a talented Charter Oak-Ute team, by the score of 11-7.
Taking the loss on the mound for the Raptors was Mandy Wolver, who threw 1/3 of an inning and gave up seven runs, with only three being earned, while giving up four hits. Also pitching was Gretchen Kistenmacher who threw 5 2/3 innings and gave up four runs, with two runs being earned, and allowing eight hits while walking no one and striking out one.
Leading the way at the plate for the Raptors were Gretchen Kistenmacher, who went 3-3 with two RBI; Kaitlin Wulf, who went 3-3 with one RBI and scored three runs; Kyra Hoffman, who went 2-3 and stole a base; and Rachel Boyle, who went 1-4 with an RBI. Ridge View coach Scott Phelps said the coaches were again disappointed with the Raptors' defense, but also said "The kids continue to work hard on it, and we will get things turned around soon."
Phelps continued, saying that the team continues to hit well and score a lot of runs. " but we can't give up that many if we want to be successful. "
Ridge View is now 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the Western Valley Conference.
