PAULLINA - The talented Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn softball team drilled South O'Brien 15-3 in five innings in War Eagle Conference action here Monday night.

Kayla Foresman was the winning pitcher for the Eagles, allowing three runs on eight scattered hits and one walk, with three strikeouts in the five innings worked.

Erica Dreckman paced the MMC batters with a 3-5 outing, including a double and triple, and two RBI. Jalyn Doeden was 2-2 with an RBI and two walks, and Brandi Orr had a two-run double.

"We hit the ball really well (nine hits and six RBI) and played flawless defense," noted MMC assistant coach Lisa Haveman. "It was a great start to a busy week."

The 10-4 Eagles and now 9-3 in the tough WEC and compete in the Spencer Tournament Friday and Saturday, playing two games each day.
