The Cherokee Washington High girls managed just two hits on the way to a resounding 9-0 loss to Hull Western Christian in Lakes Conference softball action in Cherokee Thursday night.

Wolfpack pitcher Jasmine Vanderzwaag kept the WHS girls off balance throughout the seving inning game with a constant change of speed and location, limiting Cherokee to just four base runners on two hits and two walks. She struck out nine.
Brookelyn Hoeppner took the pitching loss for Cherokee, allowing four earned runs on 12 hits, with three Ks.
HWC broke the game open in the fifth to expand on a 3-0 lead with four runs sandwiched around three singles and a throwing error by Cherokee that allowed two runs to score.

The WHS gals play at Storm Lake tonight, and at Emmetsburg Wednesday.
