South O'Brien softball team relies on letter winners

PAULLINA - A dozen letter winners are back to fuel the fires of the 2012 South O'Brien softball team, although the Wolverines will remain youthful, with just three seniors and one junior among that group of letter winners.

Seniors Casie Rehder, Erin Brasser, and Breana VanBeek will lead the way this season, along with junior Emily Riedemann, sophomores Kendra Rohlfsen, Taylor Paulsen, Rachel Struve, Kellie Einck, Alyssa Bainbridge, Leta Wester, Emma Sweeney, and freshman Brett Struve.

Among several promising newcomers to coach Heather Struve's team is junior Terran Ebel.

Rehder returns as a second-team All-War Eagle Conference selection in the outfield.

Coach Struve sees team speed and baserunning as major team strengths. Struve will be assisted this season by former Wolverine players Ashton Lansink, and Zoe Ann Roberts.
