GALVA - The Ridge View softball girls suffered a tough 8-5 loss here Tuesday night againist Logan-Magnolia. Ridge View had a 5-4 lead going into the 7th, but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Suffering the loss on the mound for the Raptors was Mandy Wolver, who pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving up 13 hits and seven earned runs while walking one and striking out three. Also pitching was Gretchen Kistenmacher, who threw 2/3 innings and gave up one hit and struck out one.
Leading the way at the plate were Ashlynn Blenner, who went 3-3 with one RBI and stole two bases, Sage Bennett went 2-4 and Dana Hustedt went 1-3 with an RBI. Risge View left 10 runners on base.
"We did a nice job of getting runners into scoring position with hits and bunts," said Ridge View coach Scott Phelps, "but couldn't get the big hit when we needed it."
Ridge View is now 15-10 overall and 9-6 in Western Valley Conference play.
