HOLSTEIN - Lawton-Bronson erupted for 10 runs in the first inning in their baseball game with Ridge View here on Wednesday, and the Raptors were never able to get back into the game, surrendering runs in every inning as they fell to the Eagles, who are now 24-3, by a final score of 21-7 in five innings.
Austin Lefler, Dylon Lower and Matt Smith each had three hits or more for Lawton-Bronson, while Heath Clark, Dru Kenny and Kris Alesch collected two base knocks apiece for the Raptors, who are now 16-6 on the season and 10-4 in conference play. Clark and Seth Johnson both had two RBI.
Three Raptor pitchers tried to slow down the Eagles' onslaught. Travis Hoeppner gave up 12 runs (five earned) on 10 hits, walking one and striking out one; Ryan Garthoff pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up three earned runs on two hits, while walking three and striking out one; and Austin Stuchen threw 1 1/3 innings and allowed six runs (three earned) on six hits, while walking five and striking out no one.
