Popular Cherokee Street Dance is Saturday

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Cherokee will once again be rockin' with the annual Street Dance on Saturday, July 7 on East Main Street in downtown Cherokee, with gates open at 7 p.m. and the popular, unique band, "The Dweebs" playing until midnight.

This year's featured act, "The Dweebs," is a six-piece family rock band based in Wisconsin and travels throughout the United States. The act was such a hit at last year's Cherokee Street Dance that event organizers invited the group back to Cherokee.

"The Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome The Dweebs back to Cherokee. Their high energy, interactive performance last summer was enjoyed by young and old alike," said Cherokee Chamber of Commerce Director Julie Hering-Kent."

Specializing in festivals, fairs, corporate and private events, "The Dweebs" present an unforgettable, interactive show that is unique in that it's both suitable and appealing for all ages. There aren't many bands that can claim both, but "The Dweebs" truly offer something for everyone!

"The Dweebs" have become one of the top festival draws in the midwest, headlining at some of the premiere festivals in the region. They also appear at national country music festivals and have opened for acts such as Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker.

Superb vocals, audience participation and superior musicianship bring your favorite songs to life and make every show by "The Dweebs" unforgettable!

At 7 p.m. gates open for the Street Dance and there will be a beverage garden and food stand available, with the music starting at 8 p.m. Admission is $10.

The Cherokee Street Dance is made possible by the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce.
