Ridge View boys lose to SLSM

EARLY - Ridge View gave up nine runs in 5th and 6th innings of their non-conference baseball game with Storm Lake St. Mary's here on Thursday, and the Raptors ended up on the losing end of a 10-5 game, despite outhitting the Panthers, 7-5.

Austin Struchen, Travis Hoeppner and Kris Alesch each had two hits to lead Ridge View's offense, and Hoeppner,Ryan Garthoff, Kyle Wessling and Struchen shared pitching duties, with Wessling taking the loss.

St. Mary's offense was led by Luke Lenhart, Tyler Munden and Kennedy Drey, and Drey picked up the win on the mound.

Ridge View ends their regular season record with a 17-9 record, and they were 11-5 in the Western Valley Conference.

The Raptors played Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto at Carroll Kuemper on Saturday in the first round of the Class 2A District Tournament.
