Funeral services for Duane Perry, 82, of Aurelia, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Missy Brown and Pastor Jane Johnston officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia.

Visitation was held on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family present, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia. The Redig Funeral Home of Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.

Wilson Duane Perry was born Jan. 3, 1930 at Cherokee, the son of Wilson Ambrose and Mildred (Clow) Perry. He attended country school and graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1948. On Sept. 10, 1950 Duane married Ila Colleen Andersen at the Methodist Church in Aurelia. Duane was a farmer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, serving on all the various boards over the years. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Aurelia Elevator, and was a member of various farm organizations. He enjoyed fishing, and playing cards and pool.

Duane died Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Sunset Knoll Care & Rehab Center in Aurelia where he had been a resident since May of 2012.

Preceding Duane in death were his parents, his wife Colleen on July 23, 2004, two daughters; Vicky Jo and Linda Sue, and three brothers-in-law; Gerald Slota, Max Van Buskirk, and Loren Alesch.

Survivors include his four children; Steven and his wife Donna Perry of Vancouver, Wash., Blaine and his wife Darlene Perry of Aurelia, Stacey and his wife Denise Perry of Leawood, Kan., and Deb and her husband Daniel Stolze of Urbandale. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, Michelle and husband Tom Williams, Jessica and husband Jason Osburn, Stephanie and husband Mark Baron, Christopher, and Zachary Perry, Adam and wife Rainie Perry, Brooke Perry, and Andrew and wife Liz Perry, Marcus and wife Kelsey Perry, Jonathan and Michael Perry, and Kyle and Nathan Stolze, nine great-grandchildren; Kassie, Tommy, Katie, McKenzie Williams, Ethan and Lucas Osburn, Caleb Baron, and Hunter and Piper Perry, one great-great-grandson, Thomas Williams, IV, one sister, Shirley Slota-Alesch of LeMars, and many other relatives and friends.
