CARROLL - Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to beat Ridge View, 3-2, in Class 2A Tournament action here on Saturday.
Heath Clark had two hits for the Raptors, while Ryan Garthoff, Austin Struchen, Dillon Kunneke and Chris Brosamle each had one. Struchen drove in the two runs
in the third inning that gave the Raptors the 2-0 lead they maintained until the Rams' uprising in the 6th.
Seth Johnson took the loss on the mound, throwing 5 1/3 innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits, while striking out four and not issuing any walks. Kris Alesch finished up, pitching 2/3 of an inning and giving up one hit and striking out one.
The Raptors finished what was a promising season with a 17-10 overall record, and they were 8-5 in the tough Western Valley Conference.
