Volunteer brigade to help clean up after RAGBRAI

Cherokee Washington High School students will provide an immeasurable community service Monday, July 23, when they convene with school staff to help clean up the City following the July 22 RAGBRAI overnight stay in Cherokee.

After the riders and their support people leave Cherokee Monday morning (July 23) there will be many areas to pick up litter and garbage. School officials ask as many students as possible to meet about 8:30 a.m. in the WHS parking lot, where they will be divided into groups and head to various locations for the clean-up.

Students are advised to bring gloves. According to organizer WHS Principal Neil Phipps, all students participating will receive Silver Cord credit, as well.
