Catfish Tournament set for July 21

CORRECTIONVILLE - The Little Sioux Fishing Club of Correctionville will hold an "all night" catfish tournament Saturday night, July 21.

Registration is from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. that afternoon, at Little Sioux Park, south of Correctionville. Weigh-in will be Sunday morning at Little Sioux Park, and all fish must be weighed before 10 a.m. All teams must weigh in their own fish.

Teams may consist of one to four members, with an entry fee of $6 per team member.

To be eligible for one of five cash prizes, a team must weigh in a stringer of five catfish, with a minimum length of 15 inches. Payback will be based on the number of total participants.

There will also be a prize for the heaviest carp. A $1 entry fee will be charged for the carp division.

Tournament boundaries are from Cherokee to Smithland in the Little Sioux River or its tributaries, and all fish must be caught on rod and reel.
