The Cherokee Washington High School Athletic Department will be hosting a "Top Speed" Performance Camp for all Middle School and High School athletes Tuesday through Friday, July 24-27.
For both boys and girls, the camp will focus on acceleration/deceleration, power development, proper mechanics, efficient movement patterns, dynamic flexibility and balance, multi-directional movements, and strength training.
The training tips and methods involved will enhance an athlete's performance and reduce their risk of injury, according to the professional trainers conducting the camp.
The camp will be held at WHS from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. all four days, July 24-27. Registration forms are available at WHS or through Travis Schipper, Cherokee Braves varsity football coach.
Cost is $40 for Cherokee athletes, with checks made payable to the Cherokee Community School District. Camp T-shirts also are available at $12 each, with checks made payable to Top Speed Performance Camps.
Athletes and their guardians must sign a fitness waiver and release to participate in the camp.
