Cherokee Thunder Truck and Tractor Pull is excited to announce the addition of two new classes and a Beer Garden for future Cherokee pulls.
The Pro Stock Semi Truck Class and the Modified Tractor (MOD) class are the two new additions to Cherokee Thunder. The Semi class is a new addition to the Outlaws, as it is only in its second year of being included in their line-up.
"I have seen the Semi class at several other tractor pulls, and it is quite a sight to see," states Derrick Alquist, Cherokee Thunder Promoter.
The tractors in the MOD class range from having a single Hemi engine to three Chevy engines and there will be MODS at Cherokee Thunder with helicopter turbine engines powering them.
"The MOD tractors with the helicopter turbine engines sound so different from the other tractors, and this is also a fun class to watch," Alquist said.
New to Cherokee Thunder is the addition of a Beer Garden. Previous years, no alcohol was sold at the pull, but coolers were allowed in for a fee. This year, the local group will be running the Beer Garden as a fundraiser. Coolers will not be allowed in the pull.
In addition to the Pro Stock Semi Class and the Modified Tractor Class, Cherokee Thunder will also feature the Light Super Stocks, Super Farms, Diesel Super Stocks, for a total of five classes of trucks and tractors.
The Cherokee Thunder Truck and Tractor Pull will be held at the Cherokee Fairgrounds on July 27 beginning at 7 pm. Both the Pork Producers and the Beef Producers will be grilling for the event. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for ages 6--12 and kids under age 5 are free.
