Carroll L. Peterson, 72, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Marcus and Kingsley, passed away on Monday July 16, 2012 in Omaha. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Wel-Life, 801 N. Adams in Papillion, Nebraska, under the direction of the Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler Funeral Home of Omaha Additional services will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Earnest-Johnson Funeral Home, 206 East Pine in Marcus. Carroll Lambert Peterson was born on January 13, 1940 in Kingsley, the son of Carl and Pearl (Brownmiller) Peterson. He was raised in Kingsley, and graduated from Kingsley High School in 1958. Carroll served as President of the local FFA Chapter. Following his education, Carroll farmed for a brief time, but an illness forced him to sell the farm operation and he began his career in sales. He and his family lived in the Lawton and Bronsonarea throughout the years, and for the last four years, Carroll lived near his daughter Crystal in Papillion, Nebraska.

Carroll was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed following the Kansas City Chiefs football team and NASCAR. Carroll was also an accomplished bowler and bowled with many teams and leagues throughout the years. He bowled three perfect games. He had a love of horses and participated in rodeo events.

Carroll will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Duane Peterson (Rhonda) of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Daniel Peterson (Belinda) of Wichita, Kansas; his daughters, Crystal Wray (Mark) of Papillion, Nebraska and Sandy Pickens (Perry) of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;his brothers, Gene Peterson of Mayer, Arizona and David Peterson of Kansas; brother-in-law Gene Ferris (Margaret Steward) of Washta; uncle Harlan Brownmiller (Barb) of Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Pearl Peterson; an infant brother, Duane; and a sister, Dorothy Ferris.
