Marcus Fair Cooking School

Friday, August 3, 2012

Lynn Mohning will be the presenter at the 2012 Marcus Fair Cooking School. The theme for this year's cooking school "Family, Friends & Fun."

Lynn is proud to call Marcus her home. She gained her cooking tips and talents from her Mom, Grandmothers, and Mother-in-Law along with learning by trial and error.

Lynn is the daughter of Jim and the late Donna Hoefling of Marcus and has one sister and five brothers. She has been married to Loren for 32 years and has five children; Ben and Patty from Sioux City; Joe and Kristine from rural LeMars; Patrick from Spirit Lake; Katie and her fiancÚ Andy Holtz from Jackson Minnesota and Beth from Pella.

Lynn is a proud Grandma and has three grandchildren which she babysits on a daily basis. Her daughter-in-law Kristine will be assisting her at the cooking school. For the past eleven years Lynn and her husband Loren have owned and operated their own business: L&L Home Builders, Inc.

The Marcus Fair has been a yearly tradition for Lynn as she has attended as well as participated in one way or another. As a child she lived at the Marcus Fair as her Dad served on the Fair Board for many years.

She always looked forward to showing animals and having fair entries and of course the kiddie parade.

When Lynn is not in the kitchen, she enjoys gardening, stitching, golfing, playing games, especially cards with her family and loves her grandchildren.

She has a lot of recipes that she will be sharing in her cookbook at this year's cooking school. She is known for her lasagna, Mexican casserole, O'Henry Bars, pickles and snicker salad.

Family and friends are very important to Lynn and she also likes to have fun. Please plan on joining Lynn and Kristine having fun at the 2012 Marcus Fair Cooking School on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the Hall of Progress.
