ORANGE CITY- Kayla Foresman of Cleghorn has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern College next fall. She also signed to play basketball earlier this year.

Foresman is a 5'10" multi-sports star who played five years for the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn softball team. A five-time all-conference player, Foresman earned third team all-state and both first team all-district and all-conference honors after posting an 18-8 record and a 1.13 earned run average as a senior. She struck out 104 batters while walking just 42 hitters in 173.2 innings pitched. Offensively, Foresman hit .443 with 12 doubles and two home runs. A member of the National Honor Society, Foresman plans to major in exercise science at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Lee and Gina Foresman of Cleghorn.

"We are pleased that Kayla will be joining us on the softball field this year," commented head coach Chris Nachtigall. "She is a hard worker both on and off the field and will be a great asset to our team and to Northwestern College. Kayla has a great presence at the plate and on the mound."
