CORRECTIONVILLE - The Little Sioux Fishing Club of Correctionville will hold an all-night Catfish Tournament beginning Saturday with registration from 4-5:30 p.m. at Little Sioux Park south of Correctionville.
Weigh-in will be Sunday morning at Little Sioux Park and all teams must weigh in their own fish.
As in the past, the tournament is a team tournament with a team consisting of up to four members, but may be as small as one member. Entry fee is $6 per team member. Payback will be based on the number of participants. All teams must register themselves and must be registered before they start to fish.
To be eligible for one of the five cash prizes, a team must weigh in a stringer of five catfish. Minimum length on the fish weighed in is 15 inches. The fish must be caught in the stretch of the Little Sioux River from Cherokee to Smithland, or its tributaries. All fish must be caught on rod and reel and all other fishing and boating regulations apply.
All stringers must be weighed in by 10 a.m. Sunday. No late weigh-ins will be accepted.
In addition to the tournament for the heaviest stringers of catfish, there also will be a tournament for the heaviest carp caught by an individual. This tournament runs at the same time as the catfish tournament. Entry fee for that tournament is $1 per person.. The carp must be weighed in by 10 a.m. Sunday.
