Supervisors approve four utility permits

The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors held their weekly meeting on Tuesday and met with County Engineer Dave Shanahan.

Shanahan presented four applications for Utility Permits from Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative. One permit involved underground construction to lay a single cable in Liberty Township, one mile north and 3 1/4 miles west of Larrabee; a second permit involved laying a single cable four miles north and 1/2 mile west of Washta, in Willow Township; and the other two permits were both in Cedar Township - one loacted four miles north and 1 1/2 miles west of Cherokee and the other located 2 3/4 miles south of Aurelia.

The Supervisors approved all four of the applications.

A DNR Construction Permit in Afton Township was tabled until next week's meeting, pending a meeting between Shanahan and the property owner later this week.

The meeting concluded with a closed session for an employee evaluation, per Iowa Code 21.5(i). No action was taken at the evaluation.
