A-A girls win 2 of 3 VB matches

The Alta-Aurelia volleyball team played three matches last week and won two of the three.

On Tuesday, the Warriors traveled to Kingsley-Pierson for a non-conference match and they swept the Panthers in three games, winning 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.

Jenna Snyder had 11 kills and Tayler Rohwer eight to lead the Warriors' attack at the net. Erica Lockin had 18 digs and Jenna Snyder 11, and Kelsi Snyder had 27 assists to her teammates. Lockin was 13-13 serving, while Kelsi Snyder was 13-14, Katie Turnquist 15-16 and Gracie Winterhof 9-11. Turnquist and Jenna Snyder each had three ace serves and Tayler Rohwer had two. Christina Jeschke had two blocks.

On Thursday, the Warriors traveled to Storm Lake St. Mary's, where they played matches against Twin Lakes Conference opponents East Sac County and Prairie Valley.

The Warriors suffered a 2-0 defeat to East Sac, losing by scores of 24-26,15-25, and then rebounded against Prairie Valley, winning the match 2-1, with game scores of 25-19, 19-25, 15-9.

Christina Heschke led the Warriors in kills in the East Sac match with seven, and Katie Turnquist added five. Kelso Snyder dished out nine assists and Tayler Rohwer had two blocks.

In the Prairie Valley match, Jenna Snyder had nine kills, Kelsi Snyder had 17 assists and Christina Heschke had two blocks, while Gracie Winterhof was a perfect 21-21 serving.

The Warriors have a 2-2 record, and they will meet conference rival Sioux Central in Sioux Rapids on Thursday before taking part in a tournament at Laurens-Marathon on Saturday.
