A member of the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) will present a College Planning Night on Thursday, September 13 at 7 p.m. in the Cherokee Washington High School library.
This is an hour-long presentation that is beneficial for 11th grade students and their parents, as you all begin the student's transition from high school to college. Topics to be discussed include recent employment trends for high school and college graduates to determine the benefits of a college education.
Students will leave the presentation knowing what their next steps should be, and with a timeline for college success.
The following topics are covered in the presentation:
Economic Trends and Goal Setting; Academic Success and Admission Requirements; Choosing a college and College Visits; the Application Process; and Scholarships and Basic Financial Aid.
