LeMARS - The Ridge View Cross Country teams competed in the Gary Meyer Invitational here Tuesday, and the Raptor boys placed 6th among 12 teams, while the girls placed 12th.
Jason Kenny was the top Ridge View runner, placing 3rd among the 83 boys varsity runners with his time of 18:04, while Christian Egger placed 11th, with a time of 18:59. Others competing for the Ridge View varsity boys were Sergio Carbajal, 36th in 20:01; Charlie Kliegl, 55th in 21:22; Zach Kenny, 74th in 23:03 and Gabe Carbajal, 78th in 24:16.
The Ridge View varsity girls were led by Susie Collier, who placed 53rd among 75 runners with her time of 22:02. Rachel Boyle (56th, 22:26); Melissa Brandt (58th, 23:57); Kate Mathes (65th, 23:57) and Courtney Carstens (68th, 24:35) completed the Raptors' team.
Alex Burhop and Jonah Kistenmacher were among 87 JV boys who also ran.
Maurice-Orange City/Floyd Valley won the Varsity Girls team meet with 29 points and Orange City Unity Christian was second, with 42 points. The Cherokee girls placed 7th with 225 points, and Alta-Aurelia was 10th, with 235 points. The Boys varsity meet was won by Storm Lake, with 74 points and Sioux City East was second, with 89 points. The Alta-Aurelia boys finished 8th, with 199 points.
