BROOKINGS, SD - Adam Timmerman of Cherokee is among five former student-athletes who will be inducted into the South Dakota State University Sports Hall of Fame at a halftime ceremony at the Jackrabbits' game against Western Illinois on October 13.

Timmerman, who prepped at Cherokee Washington High School, earned first-team North Central Conference honors from 1992-1994 and was a consensus All-American selection in 1993 and 1994, winning the Jim Langer Trophy as the NCAA Division II Offensive Lineman of the Year in 1994.

He then went on to a 12-year career in the NFL with Green Bay and St. Louis and played in four Super Bowls, including one winning game with each of his NFL teams. He was also selected for the Pro Bowl in 1999 and 2001. Timmerman retired back to his home town of Cherokee, where he stays active in youth sports and works the family farm.
