To encourage exercise and healthy lifestyles, and in recognition of October being National Physical Therapy Month, the Cherokee Regional Medical Center Physical Medicine and Rehab Department will be holding their 2nd Annual 5K Fun Run/ Walk on Saturday, October 13. The event will start and finish on the CRMC campus.
Registration for the fun run/walk will begin at 8 a.m., and the run/walk itself will start at 9 a.m. Runners and walkers of all ages are all welcome. The cost is $15 if you pre-register by noon on October 3rd, and a T-shirt will be included. Registration anytime after October 3rd or on the day of the event will be $20. Only a limited number of T-shirts will be available for later registrants.
The top finishers in each age category will be recognized. Water, snacks and fruit will also be provided for participants following the run/walk.
"This is a great opportunity to promote the importance of exercise within a healthy lifestyle and also to educate the public of the many helpful services the CRMC Physical Medicine and Rehab Department has to offer," said CRMC Physical Medicine and Rehab Manager Matt Johnson, DPT.
CRMC Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Kent Lundquist, agreed. "Many people do not know the variety of services the Physical Therapy profession, in general, provides. We hope this event serves as a way to educate the public of what therapy services are available at CRMC to help them meet their needs," said Lundquist. "I would like to encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the cool autumn air and join us for some great fun and exercise."
