Letsche's to host Breast Cancer Ride

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Letsche's Bike Shop in Cherokee is proud to be one of 100 Trek Bicycle Dealers across the United States and Canada that has scheduled a bike ride to help combat breast cancer.

The bike ride will be held on Saturday, October 13, starting at 1 p.m. The ride will begin and end at Letsche's Bike Shop on West Main Street.

Twelve and 24 mile routes are scheduled. Entry fee is $25, with all registration fees donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This ride is designed to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment by joining forces with women and men of all ages and abilities to ride on the same day all over the country, in the name of breast cancer research.

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. An hour on a bike in fall weather is nothing compared to what individuals with Breast Cancer undergo during the diagnosis and treatment of this terrible disease.

Riders can register through the Active.com website, or they may register in person at Letsche's Bike Shop by completing a registration form there.

The first 30 women who register will receive a free "Ride for Breast Cancer" t-shirt. Each participant will receive an event gift bag (resusable tote), water bottle, and more. Many fun door prizes will be drawn for the day of the event.

Cancer survivors- If you register online by October 1st, you will receive a free survivor t-shirt!

Please contact Letsche's Bike Shop for more information, to register, volunteer, or donate to the event.
