LE MARS - The young River Valley volleyball team dropped four competitive matches at Saturday's rugged Le Mars Invitational here, losing 2-0 in all four match-ups, including Dakota Valley, Kingsley-Pierson, Woodbury Central, and Hinton.

Against Dakota Valley, Olivia Goettsch and Taylor Goettsch led the meager Wolverine hitting attack, each 1-2 with one kill. Kelsie Brown led in digs with three, and Allison Brown and Paige Korver each registered one solo block. Allison Brown also led in serving with a 2-2 effort, while Jordain Volkert was 1-2.

Against K-P, Alyssa Georgeopoulos led in hitting with 4-6 and three kills, followed by Olivia Goettsch 3-7 and two kills, Volkert 3-4 and two kills, and Brianna Eades 3-3 and one kill. Jenna Knaack led RV in set assists with five, and Kelsie Brown led in digs with 11. Georgeopoulos had two solo blocks. Serve leaders were Volkert, Eades and Knaack each 4-4.

Olivia Goettsch paced the Wolverines' hitting attack against Woodbury Central with an 11-13 effort and nine kills, followed by Georgeopoulos 6-6, and Volkert 2-3 and one kill. Volkert led in assists with two, and also tallied three digs, and Olivia Goettsch four digs. Goettsch also led in serving with a 6-6 match, while Kelsie Brown was 5-5 and Volkert was 4-4.

Against Hinton, Goettsch led in hitting with 2-2 and a kill, and Volkert was 1-2 with one kill. Bailey Fitch had two assists, and Knaack led in digs with two. Eades was 1-1 serving to lead that category.
