The Buena Vista County Conservation Board and Staff will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for the new campground, and an open house for the new office of the Conservation Department.
The public are invited to attend the groundbreaking and open house on Friday, Oct. 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a groundbreaking ceremony at 2 p.m.
The event will taks place at the Buena Vista County Conservation Park, located five miles west of Linn Grove on 440th Street, just southwest of Peterson.
The new campground will host 19 sites, with 30 and 50 amp electrical service and water hookups at each site. A new dump station will also be available, along with new shower/restroom facilities.
Playground equipment and a sand volleyball court will be located in the new campground.
Completion date is projected for spring of 2013. Several cabins are planned as part of the campground and will be constructed at a later date.
The current campground will also remain open to accommodate campers.
