SIOUX RAPIDS - Ridge View upended Sioux Central 20-6 in Class 1A District football action here Friday nightquarterback Ryan Garthoff rushing for two touchdowns and passing for a third to lead the Raptors to their first win of the season.
Garthoff carried the ball 25 times for 93 yards and two TDs, and completed 8-20 passes for 87 yards and one TD, that scoring hook-up to Josh Kofmehl for five yards.
Also for the Raptors, Dru Kenny rushed the ball 18 times for 79 yards, and Matt Wandrey had five hauls for 33 yards. Michael Tiefenthaler led the Ridge View receivers with four catches for 58 yards, and Wandrey caught three passes for 24 yards.
Sioux Central, now 3-1 on the season, scored its lone TD on a 61-yard pass from quarterback Parker Habben to Nathan Leer. The tough Ridge View defense limited the Rebels to 105 yards rushing on 49 attempts, with Devin Tripp leading the way with 27 carries for 74 yards, and Leer 10 hauls for 31 yards. Habben was 2-8 passing for 73 yards.
Michael Davidson led the staunch Raptor defense with 20 tackles, followed by Dillon Kunneke 12, Nate Myrice 11, and Wandrey 10. Kofmehl had a pass interception for the winners.
Tripp led the Rebel defensze with 15 tackles, while Matt Koenig had 10, Leer nine, and Drew Binder and Austin Glawe six apiece.Binder also had a fumble recovery for Sioux Central.
Ridge View (1-3) hosts second-ranked Fort Dodge St. Edmond's (4-0) in Holstein tonight.
