#2 St. Edmond clips Ridge View, 26-7

HOLSTEIN - Second-rated Fort Dodge St. Edmond clipped a gritty Ridge View team 26-7 in Class 1A District football action here Friday night.

Junior quarterback Ryan Garthoff paced the Raptor offense with 14 carries for 63 yards and one TD, while Dru Kenney led the Ridge View ground attack with 22 carries for 69 yards, and Matt Wandrey hauled the ball five times for 22 yards.

Garthoff completed 16-26 passes for 163 yards, with John Kofmehl leading his receiver corps with six catches for 63 yards. Kenny had three catches for 40 yards, and Mike Tiefenthaler three catches for 32 yards.

Alex Mericle led the Gaels on offense, scoring three rushing TDs on 33 carries for 233 yards. St. Edmond QB David Flattery was 0-2 passing.

Nate Myrice and Dillon Kunneke led the Ridge View defense with 10 tackles apiece, followed by Wandrey nine, Kenny, Kofmehl and Mason Johnson eight each, and Joe Tokheim seven.

Teddie Harvey led the Gaels on defense with 20 tackles.

Ridge View (1-4) hosts Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto (3-2) Friday night.
